A Different Kind of Transformation
Tuesday’s are the day most people post their transformation and it’s usually about how we look. You may be thinking, “Well you are posting a before and after picture.“ Yes, I do always post pictures of how I looked before and how I look now because let’s face it they typically get peoples attention.
Today I want to talk about one of the other transformations. There’s so many, but my mind has made the most powerful transformation of all.
On the left I was not comfortable in my skin at all. I fidgeted, worried, was severely self-conscious, self-loathing, and in general hated the way I looked and was embarrassed about the way I looked. On the right, I’m finally comfortable in my skin. Are there some things I would like to improve? Sure, who doesn’t want to better themselves? My point is that if I looked the way on the right for the rest of my life, I would be content. That’s my new truth. That is freedom.
Wanting to be your best self and doing things to maintain or improve the way you look doesn’t have to be done out of self loathing. I work out, I dress in a way that makes me feel confident, because I love how I feel, not because I hate how I look.
Treat your body right because you deserve it, not because you hate it.
