My mantra for years has been “Get Your Mind Right” because honestly, stinking thinking is not conducive to our goals and changing our behavior for the better.
When it comes to making changes in our life, our mindset is number one. If we don’t have the belief that we can do what we say we want to do we’re doomed from the beginning.
My top three tips for adjusting your mindset to one of success are:
1) Start each day with stating your intentions. Write them down in a daily journal, or put them in a note on your phone, and if you work with a coach message your coach with your intentions for the day. Starting the day with a positive can-do attitude goes a long way.
2) Read something positive that inspires you or motivates you. Whether it’s a daily devotional, an inspirational blog that gives you a fire, or a book that educates you and in some way it is related to you advancing towards your goal.
3) Listen to a podcast. There are many talented, intelligent, funny, podcasts out there that can positively impact your behavior. Find one that’s providing information that helps you live the life you are wanting to live. It can be lifestyle, science/nutrition, or a mindset/motivational theme.
Put all these things on your calendar and treat them like you would treat any other appointment. They should be on the to do list and not get pushed to the back burner.
You don’t have to wait until someday to do these things. Someday is not a day of the week! Start doing them now and give yourself the best opportunity for change.
